Israeli authorities conducted a series of security operations across the West Bank and central Israel over the weekend, resulting in the discovery of a body, the rescue of a man held in chains, and the seizure of stolen military equipment.

Police officers and forensic investigators recovered the body of an east Jerusalem resident in his 40s in the Wadi Rahal area near Bethlehem on Monday. The deceased was transferred to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute to determine the cause of death. Police stated that initial findings suggest the incident was criminal in nature rather than terror-related.

In Bethlehem, security forces arrested three suspects during overnight raids on Sunday night. One suspect, a local resident, is allegedly affiliated with Hamas. Investigators searched his home and the residence of another resident suspected of holding weapons. Officers confiscated a loaded hunting rifle, IDF uniforms, and various technological items. The two suspects were taken to the Ma'ale Adumim police station, where they face charges for possessing illegal weapons and unauthorized military equipment. In a related search near Hebron, police arrested a man in his 30s who was holding a hunting rifle and a large amount of ammunition.

In Rahat, police rescued a man found with his leg shackled to the floor of a home during a weapons search. Officers freed the man and began investigating the circumstances. Preliminary findings indicate his family members chained him up, allegedly due to his drug use. The man's brother was arrested and taken to the Rahat police station for questioning.

In Kalansuwa, a majority-Arab city in central Israel, police and Border Police officers located a large cache of weapons stolen from the IDF. The seizure occurred during an operation aimed at reducing violent crime in the Arab sector. Investigators found a Kalashnikov rifle, three M-16 assault rifles, eight handguns, six fragmentation grenades, two stun grenades, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and three tactical vests. An explosives expert handled the grenades at the scene. Two family members present at the site were arrested and taken for questioning as the investigation continues.

The operations involved coordinated efforts by Israel Police, Border Police, and IDF soldiers. Authorities collected evidence at the Wadi Rahal scene and processed seized items from the various search locations. The arrests span different jurisdictions, including Bethlehem, Hebron, Rahat, and Kalansuwa.
