The Milwaukee Brewers scored eight runs with two outs in the fifth inning on Monday night, a sequence that stands as the first of its kind in World Series history. The offensive surge helped the team defeat the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 at Tropicana Field, putting Milwaukee one win away from its first championship.

Brice Turang initiated the rally with a two-run single after Christian Yelich reached on a walk. The Brewers followed with a postseason-record streak of seven straight hits, all occurring with two outs. Garrett Mitchell, Cooper Pratt, and Sal Frelick added RBI hits to extend the lead to 8-0 before the inning ended.

Jackson Chourio, who finished 4 for 5 with a double, provided the momentum for the Brewers. He has collected eight hits in three Series games. Manager Pat Murphy praised Chourio for his focus, noting that the young player gave the team a significant lift. Chourio stated he approached each at-bat as if it were his last, aiming to reach base by any means necessary.

Robert Gasser, a rookie left-hander, pitched one-hit ball through six innings. He faced the minimum 18 batters, a feat last achieved in a World Series by Curt Schilling in 2001. Gasser allowed a leadoff single to Yandy Díaz and retired the next 14 batters before walking Victor Mesa Jr. to begin the sixth inning. This marked the first time a Brewers starter got an out in the sixth during this postseason.

Tampa Bay starter Freddy Peralta, the American League Championship Series MVP, struggled against his former team. He surrendered five runs and seven hits in four and two-thirds innings. Rays manager Kevin Cash described Peralta as being out of sync, noting inconsistencies in his command allowed the Brewers to execute at-bats effectively.

The win extends the Brewers' postseason winning streak to eight games, tying the major league record. The team has now won its last eight games, having swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. With a 3-1 series lead, Milwaukee is one victory from ending its championship drought.

The Rays, who led the American League with 98 regular-season wins, face a historic hurdle. Of the 43 previous teams to fall behind 3-0 in a best-of-seven postseason series, only the 2004 Boston Red Sox recovered. Kevin Cash said the team must use its remaining chance to win. Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday night at Tropicana Field, where Griffin Jax is expected to start for Tampa Bay.
