Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota returned to public view on Friday after a two-week absence. She cast an early ballot in Minneapolis alongside state Attorney General Keith Ellison. The appearance occurred days after federal agents searched her Washington, D.C. residence.

Homeland Security Investigation agents conducted the raid on Oct. 12. They are part of a criminal probe into potential fraud involving immigration paperwork. During the search, agents confiscated Omar's passport and cellphone. Her sister, Sahra Noor, was also interviewed by investigators.

Omar had kept a low profile since the raid. She resurfaced in the Twin Cities to vote and attend a community lunch at the Karmel Mall of Somalia. Media members followed the pair closely as they moved between events.

Later that day, Omar posted a video to X. The clip showed her and her husband, Tim Mynett, walking on a dock over a lake with fall foliage in the background. She captioned the post: "Less scrolling, more strolling. Enjoying our beautiful Minnesota lakes." It is unclear when the footage was actually recorded.

The video featured a Somali hip-hop track titled "Nimaan Ciilayba Icaaya." The song is by Ilkacase Qays, also known as Muse Abdikadir, and features Hodan Abdirahman. The lyrics describe enemies scattering and being crushed. One line reads: "No enemy dares threaten me, wherever I step, they scatter." Another states: "If the just one had felt anger on my behalf, would he not have crushed the enemy underfoot?"

Omar restricted direct replies to the post. The only public comment came from Rep. Cori Bush, who wrote: "We love this." The investigation centers on documents filled out by Omar or her father during her naturalization process. If fraud is proven, she could be denaturalized, according to border czar Tom Homan.

Omar is running for reelection in the current cycle. Federal agents also obtained her DNA following the home search. The case remains active under the Department of Homeland Security.
